PRS Hollow Body 1
Probably the best of the mass produced electric guitars and one step removed from hiring a personal luthier to make your axe. I have a PRS Hollow Body I ( carved spruce top & mahogany body ) and love it. It handels eberything from striaght ahead bebop to funkadelic jam (with my wha wha pedal on). Great box.
Martin D-41
I play the D-41 on solo acoustic occasions and when I need a lot of projection at times. Beautiful axe with great tone and feel.
Taylor Guitars
I have the Taylor 6oo acoustic electric series wich has the expression electronic system. Excellent box with a spruce top and maple back and sides. It gives a really warm and confined / inward sound which works well for ensemble playing.
Guitar Amps
All my amps are Mesa Boogies. I love them. I use the DC-5, Subway Blues, Lone Star Special mainly in different combinations depending on the gig. Their wieght can be ungodly but man do they sound great for what I do. Well thought out switching and pretty road worthy.
Effects
If you are into pure analog and pure tube sound (me), then check this out. All my effects and delays are Fulltone. I used to use the high end digital rack effects but now I just use the Fulltone wha, chorus and tube echo. The fulltone guitar cables are cleanest and most accurate I have found.
Routing
This guy makes pretty awesome switching and routing setups for amps, effects and guitars. I used to have my own studio and was always a fanatic about clean signal flow and routing. Well, so are the people at Lehle. Pricey units, but if you are into the cleanest possible signal flow and switching flexibility, definitely check out these units.
